Falling down is not failure. Failure comes when you stay where you have fallen.

Most of what runs our lives was written before we could read. The posture of our shoulders, our facial expressions, the words that come out of our mouths in someone else’s vernacular. You can spend decades working on yourself and still be running the script you inherited. Conscious effort cannot reach the layer where it was etched.

Hypnotherapy is how we reach it, not with willpower or insight but with a different kind of attention, directed at the layer below the one you are used to working with. I help women learn to listen there, often for the first time.

Nikki Barrier

Nikki is a certified hypnotherapist working with women across the country. She came to this work the way most of her clients do, after years of doing everything right and still waking up as a former version of herself. She trained formally in clinical hypnotherapy, therapeutic imagery, inner child work, hypnotic childbirth, and trauma recovery. She trained informally in metabolizing buffet plates she didn’t ask to be served.

She lives on the east coast with her two young boys, where she writes, often before anyone else is awake. She is writing a book about the subconscious scripts we carry before we have language for them and the slow work of learning to read them back. Her writing lives at https://substack.com/@nikkibarrier.

She offers clients is not a method. It is an accompaniment into the layer where the scripts live, and a way of being with a woman who is meeting her own interior.
